About Eric Ryan

Eric Ryan has dedicated his professional life to service.

He began his career as a teacher with Teach for America, teaching physics and entrepreneurship in a
rural region of North Carolina. His efforts earned him Teacher of the Year honors and were highlighted in
The Wall Street Journal, Parade Magazine, and a book titled Electric Dreams.

Eric left the classroom fourteen years ago and began working in the nonprofit sector. He was the founder
of one nonprofit, became the executive director of another, and has served on several boards.  For the
last several years he's provided guidance to small nonprofits across the country.

A graduate of UC Berkeley, he lives in the San Francisco Bay Area with his wonderful wife, Katie,
and two children, Audrey and Nate.  He leads a fortunate life, rich with family, friends, and
plenty of adventure.
